Late night reading lead me to the GreenCar.comarticle on the Ibuki, Mazda's hybrid electric concept car. According to the article, the body panels are made of light weight reinforced plastic and the engine frame is made of carbon fiber. Not to sure I'm crazy about the cartoony windshield, but I would love to add this to my collection!
And here they are! Mine's on the left, Nick's* is on the right.
About a month ago, Nick found his Miata at his local dealership with a killer deal. I had an 'OMG, I want one!' moment as I had been shopping for quite a while now and somehow missed the one he found. A day and many internets later, I finally found one of my very own. :)
Fast forward to this past weekend, I finally racked up enough miles to take it safely on a road trip to Round Rock to meet the twin. We convinced Nick to take his GT out for a scrubbing and photo shoot of cutesy twinky Miatae goodness!
Saturday morning we got up, packed, and took Mashimaro on his first road trip. We drove out to Austin to do a little shopping and then made our way to Round Rock to visit my good friend Nick.
On the way, we took many shots of the beautiful landscape. And of course, Munkie tagged along :-)
Here he is! Don't you just love that adorable grin? We're still in our bonding stage, so he doesn't have a name just yet. So far, he plays well with others and likes to run around without his top on.
He's a Brand New 6 speed Mazda MX-5 GT in Marble White. The saddle brown leather interior and top lends to his toasted marshmallow feel. And so I've been calling him my mashimaro (marshmallow in Japanese).
