e*lec*tric

Totally unexpectedly as I was making my way to the door, my head down staring at the wooden floor, he grabbed my shoulders, pulled up my face and kissed me -- like a goober, I fell over. My vision glazed and my face hurt from smiling so hard. My fingers were all tingly, too.

My first totally most electric kiss EVER! *gah*

--and now i can't sleep.

Kisses

I'm such a sucker for a good kiss.

That is all.

Sexyspot

I finally found out what it was called, thanks to one of the resident campus cuties. And now my new favorite word: Obliques.

dreamy italian phone call

so it's 2:22am

phone rings....
she's in the ferrari store in italy, lots of beautiful things, what would i like.
there's apparel, lego sets, perfume even!
gaah! i am absolutely speechless. i told her to pick.

i love my friends. oh so very much.

Neat!

A couple of neat things I found on the internet recently - gotta love the internet, makes everything so easy:

Because greeting cards are so flat: www.boxtalks.com has downloadable boxes that you can print and give instead of cards!

I don't think they hold up in the mail, but they'd be fun for personal delivery. Not bad for $0.99, and you can print out as many as you want!

But if you have to send something out, you can send it with stamps that have your pictures on them! Stamps.com does these, and they're a little pricey, but I'd totally get them for invites and thankyou cards. Hmm, these'd make great gifts to put in those boxes, now that I think about it.

*** Rita Evac Update ***

3:30pm Thursday 9/22: It's been 25 hours and Choom's still not to Conroe. Traffic's at 2 mph.

--updated as I get phone calls--
10:30pm: Choom is just past Conroe, gonna be outta gas soon.
10:30pm: A&J left @ 4am and are just north of Houston, heading east, same gas situation.

11:40pm: A&J are gonna make a move for D&Kathy's place if traffic allows.
12:30am Friday 9/23: Choom's in Huntsville, looking for gas.

1:00pm Friday 9/23: Choom & GF & Bowski & Jackie are home.
6:19pm: A&J are with D&Kathy.

A&J, D&Kathy, Choom & Crew are all okay.. KHOU Channel 11 has their crazy news crew hanging out at the SanLuis watching the water beat the crap out of Galveston if anybody cares to watch. They're showing it here in Lubbock on the Fox Weather Channel.

--final update--
3:00pm Monday 9/26: A&J are back home. The boys are home. Mom&Dad are staying with them for a couple of days before heading back.

Choomy isn't going back until probably Thursday.

*** Rita Evac Note ***

To The Austin Clan (aka TheFamily): Allen & Judy have left Houston and will be staying at Jason's in Dallas until further notice. They're fine, the boys are fine.

To My Family: Choom's left Galveston @ 2:30pm and will be staying @ my Mom's, he and Bowski can be reached there.

That is all. We return you to your irregularly scheduled nonsense.

It's gonna be like this for a while...

Filling out a metric ass-jillion of online Job Applications for a JobbyJob when I graduate... so daddy'll stop worrying that I'm gonna end up on his front porch.

*thanks Raf

Flags

Flags in Downtown Houston. Probably one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. Speaking of photos, I just discovered the goodness that is JAlbum and will be using it for new photo albums from now on.

GoodTimes.

Me, Elizabeth, Allen, Judy, Mike, and Jeremy @ the post Rehersal Dinner at Papa's BBQ. Everyone at the table is an engineer, except Judy...but she keeps us engineers fed and healthy so we don't keel over in the middle of important projects. Everyone at this table is pretty much a best friend, except Mike - he's a friend.. who happens to be hot (but then again, everyone at this table is hot). Everyone at this table has seen me do things at a dinner table that makes them snicker when they remember what it is I do...except Jeremy. And by the good graces of my friends, he'll never ever know.

Sharing my Saturday with You.

In the interest of doing as little laundry as possible for the next few weeks - I hate doing laundry here, the machines are 1/2 the size and they cost $1.75 a load - I have created my very first pile of clothes to give away to goodwill*. Boy does that feel good. My hallway is now filled with whites, colors and darks that I will eventually wash, but I'm also in the middle of DeCluttering(TM) as RoomieJosh recently experienced... Z would be proud.

Guess who called me?! Seda! I hadn't heard from the little chica in over 4 months!! Somehow most of that 14 minute conversation was about the boys I met in Houston while I was intown for J&A's wedding. Which reminds me, I should tell Judy that story, too. Elizabeth called today as well, but I missed it. I called and left a message. I really need to call her back. Jason called, talked about the happy couple and booze. I learned that beer can, in fact, go bad.

I've thrown away all of the paper clutter that lived in the corner of the dining room. I've thrown away all the Victoria Secret Catalogs, there'll be more coming in the next few weeks. I chunked the receipts for things I can't return. And, I'm wondering where the rest of my Saturday went.

Thirteen more weeks. I still can't believe it!

I need go do other stuff, hang up my clean clothes and do homework.

*before you all think i'm donating dirty clothes... these hadn't been worn since i washed them last.

H o L y Talking iBooks!

I discovered today, somehow by playing in the Terminal, that my iBook talks. And it can say my name. My NAME! Four letters and 3 of them vowels and it can say my name! This is big, folks. As an asian person with one of those, "hhhh---how do you say this" names, it's big. //happydance//

Uh oh....

So I'm about to head to bed and I go say g'nite to Kiddo. And he's not there. He somehow got out. Either one of the cat's clicked open a hinge.... or he found a way to push it open. But he's not in his box.

He's not in the water heater closet, or my dresser. :-( And the cat's haven't gotten him yet :-)

*gulp* *sniffle*

Overheard on the bus...

"And he's like all drama all the time! I swear, it's either him or his cat. He's always going on about his cat. The damned cat! First it had fleas, and fleas were like everywhere, on like everything, and we had to get like this flea killer. And then the fleas were gone. And then oh, no, then he finds out the cat has worms, and I'm like keep that cat away from me! Oh my god! He finds anything about that cat and makes it like a big deal. Seriously! I'm tired of it! It's like now that cat's his sole responsibility. I mean after his mom left his dad, and he had that wreck, and then they took his kid away from him, this cat's like his main thing. He loves this cat!..."

The front half of the bus, who was sharing what was left of the airspace couldn't stop laughing. But little blondie, with the i'm not sure who told her it was trendy to wear a bikini top instead of a bra under a tanktop, and very very loud annoying voice kept going. Times like this I wish I had the super hero power of jamming cellphone signals.

Things you learn while in class...

The secret to surviving a full day of class: my iBook.
Found earlier today in a chat: T-shirts celebrating the times.

Did anybody else find Kanye reading the teleprompter more like a special 12 yr old kid with studdering issues?

Say it like you mean it

"Why do people say they're not trying to be difficult when we all know they are?"

Ah yes. Good question posed earlier today by a fellow ponderer.
Of course, I have a habit of saying that to people who are trying to be difficult with me. And so I share with you, some of our other favorite from The Lies We Tell:

“I’ll call you tomorrow”
followed by “I’m so glad you called me”
"I hope you have a great day"
“I miss you”
"Oh, it's big"
"That feels good"
"You're the best ever"
"Of course i did, did you?"
“I don’t think about anyone but you”
"That's not my porn, I'm holding it for a friend"
"Your friends are great"
"It's not you.. it's me"
"more than a handful is a waste"
and the biggest one “I love you, I’m just not in love with you”

Sorry, Raf, I had to save this one for posterity.

It's not the GT3

Pretty isn't it? At first glance, the pretty baby is really a pretty baby. Bright shiny saffron yellow and all kinds of tiny - just enough for me and my baby iBook. And even better when driven by a hottie. (I have a thing for hotties)

Definitely something to tool around in for that 'special' weekend. It's like a miata's richer, fancier, high-maintenance sister. And you have to turn and twist and push buttons just so to get it to start, almost cute in a quirky way. But sorry peeps, it's not the GT3. *le sigh*. My one true love.

EDIT:: In this month's Consumer Reports, 6 roadsters were tested. One of them was the Lotus. And guess what, it came in Dead Last. So to the losers in Lubbock who think I don't know anything about cars, BooFreakinYa.

Return from long weekend

Back from H-Town where me and my friends witnessed A&J becoming Mr & Mrs A&J. It was a beautiful ceremony and once again I got to meet up with all of the old AustinFamilyCrew. Sonia and the sisters looked gorgeous in their emerald green saris and the men were delicious in their sapphire vests and coat tails. *drool*

I was glad to see/hang out with Elizabeth, Vinnie & Mark, Marcus, and A's sexy brother Jason. Also got to meet A's family and the rest of J's sisters. Lost the bet on whether or not I would meet her dad. More importantly, I got to participate in a family tradition* and now I'm marked and will live in fear of my "big" day.

The other huge highlight for the weekend: partying with Jeremy!
My hottie was in town for training before he's shipped off to the LandDownUnder™ and I got to hang out in his hotel between ceremony action. We went downtown Saturday to the FlyingSaucer (his new favorite houston place) for some beer - though we almost didn't make it... the driver of our van couldn't decipher the gas guage. It was so bad, one guy kissed the ground when we finally made it downtown. I had *the most* fun drinking and clubbing with Jeremy and his friends than I've had in a damned long time. (Probably also helped that I was 1 girl with 9 other guys - a couple of them were rather delicious!!) If Jeremy ever posts those pictures, I'll have to share.

going nowhere

I found this on my friend's blog:

The American LeMans series race at Mosport Park in Ontario is being shortened by 15 minutes due to a lack of adequate fuel supply...

And in the hotel paper... Gas is over $6/gal in parts of Georgia.

My stomach sank when I spent $27 on 7 gallons of gas last night. 7. 7 gallons.

1 down 15 to go

I survived the 1st week of school.
Nothing's broken yet. Nothing's lost.
Still waiting on my expense report to be processed so my rent check will clear. *grumble*.
Kinda homesick. Missing my Austin peoples.
Gonna have a long weekend.
