In addition to...

For going on 3 years now, the bloggie blog has entertained you with tales of why I call this place Buttocks, Tx. The armpit of Texas. The cigarette butt in the ashtray of society. And today, folks, on The First Day of School for the Last Time Ever™, i present to you yet another joocy piece of only-in-Lubbock goodness... 3 bus incidents: (1) in a walmart parking lot, the corner of the bus got clipped by a local (2) bus driver tried to take a turn, not realizing the bus they're driving is huge, took out the front end of a truck and (3) bus driver takes out a yield sign. bad yield sign. bad.

Because I needed another reason to park my car in a grassy patch 100 yards from the nearest vehicle, roadway.

Real Quick...

Here's a rundown since I last saw internet....

Thursday: Last day of work @ the internship. Hard to say good bye because everyone is just so great over there. Put in the hours, wrote the reports, cleaned up, left quietly. *sniffle*

Friday: Met Nakia after all these years of hearing stories and his awesome music. Attempted wakeboarding, since Sean has a boat, and lives by the water, and says it's easy... ended the day with a nice tan, and a cracked butt bone (i don't know, really, but it still hurts)

Saturday: Said g'bye to the littleBailey and roomie for the summer and drove on home to the Metroplex where I hung out with PhuDitty and Mommy.

Sunday: Met, for the first time ever, two of the sweetest men in my life: my mini-god-siblings Rodney and Andy. Dan's their Dad. O M G! Never have I met young men so handsome and well mannered and absolutely the most ruthless at Monopoly!! Andy's a sweetheart, he's the handsome one who'll do anything for the pretty girls (PhuDitty started out with no property, and then ruled the board thanks to SugarDaddyAndy). Rodney, he's the handsome heartbreaker. He's promised to come visit for a Tech FB game this semester ;-) I can't wait!

Monday: Lounged. Shaved Vivi. And at his request, and out of respect, I'm not posting pictures.

Tuesday: Drove back to the armpit of Texas. Stinky.

Wednsday - Friday: Cleaned house, got mail, got ready for school.

Saturday: Awaited the Arrival of Baby iBook! I now have my very first piece of Apple equipment! Worked there for years, was given all kinds of fun stuff, but never a computer. Finally got one!! And omg, have you seen these things?!

Today: School tomorrow. eugh. First day of my Last Semester in Buttocks. 16 weeks, the countdown begins..... now.

bonus:: becasue everyone loves the pictures, check these out.

Who again?

Googlism was forwarded to me so that I could find out who exactly Google thinks I am. So who am I exactly? Here are the ones that stood out:

hieu is ruthless
hieu is an expert in securities trading
hieu is also a kind of enigmatic character
hieu is my girlfriend
hieu is the director of international programs
hieu is my hilarious vietnamese suitemate from last year
hieu is an above average commander
hieu is vietnam's leading proponent of captive bear raising
hieu is right
hieu is sometimes horny
and most importantly: hieu is key

*meeeep*

This has been a test of the emergency HIEU system

If this had been a real HIEU, you would receive instructions following the HIEU broadcast

I like to drive

... and because I like to drive, I would like for those who share the road with me to know:

  • should you feel the need to manuver in front while scaring the crap out of me, do please go faster
  • the headlights on your truck were mean to help you see the road, not my retinas
  • get the directions before you start out on your trip... not while you're blocking 3 lanes of traffic
  • if you make an angry face and point fingers, don't be surprise if i laugh
  • last but not least: if your blinker's been on for 3 city blocks and you haven't moved over you really can't expect me to take it seriously.
that is all.

Say G'Nite Gracie

I turned in my badge @ "Missing Trees" today. And I miss the guys out there already. Other than getting up at the CrackAssO'Dawn every morning I was out there, I loved my summer at ThePlant. It was my thermobook in action, and it was awesome. There's just something cool about being able to point to a trapezoid in a drawing and go "Well this is a turbine... and it does this..." with accompanying dramatic hand motion and actually knowing what I'm talking about.
Willard The Wizard bought me lunch, I said my g'byes, and drove off for the last time this summer.

No fear... I shall return... as a Billiam of sorts, but prettier. Ha. And I'll make my interns call me Queen.

Krause is the thing to do

When I left Austin the first time, goodbyes were said at Saraong-A-Licious. This time the official goodbye party was at Krause Springs in Spicewood, TX. Thanks to Miss SuziFoo who introduced me to this awesome water spot last year (and I *should* have brought my camera because there were hot boys in half nekkidness to take pictures of, *sigh*)

Just about all of my awesome Austin summer peoples made it out to play in the water with me. And if they missed it, I caught lunches with them earlier in the week. The others I'll hopefully see before I leave. *sniffle* I'll miss you guys!

butterflies and nerves

Presentations make me nervous, until I'm giving them. I get a metric ass ton of butterflies in my tummies about 3 days before and they take their time leaving.

So this is me nursing a metric ass ton of hungover belly butterflies.

This also makes me easily annoyed at the fur elise playing icecream van outside the window. arg.

Completely Unrelated

1) Last night while we were watching tv, the newsflash came on that Peter Jennings had passed away from lung cancer. I'm still not used to seeing people I grew up with on TV passing away.

2) For once this summer, I am happy - even if it was only for a little bit, I can say I was very happy. And for once this summer, I slept a good night's sleep.

Meme deux

Now for you to share something with me:

(A) Recommend to me: 1. a movie: 2. a book: 3. a musical artist, song, or album:
(B) Ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.
(C) Copy/Paste this into your online journal so your friends can ask you questions.

Matagorda!

Heading down to Matagorda again. The only salt water I'll get to see this summer. *sigh*

Girls make sounds

I find myself at an AutoZone this evening and suprised by this comment:

I like the women folk that come in. They don't try to diagnose the problem themselves, they just make sounds. They're very good at making noises.

This was in response to him overhearing my 'high level' explanation of the spark plug gap tool for my automotive maintenance challenged friend. Long story short... he was made aware that I was offended. And if not, everyone else got the idea. Mean old men.
