*My Computer is Away from Me*

Merry Christmas
&
Happy New Year

And the Happiest of Holidays to Everyone Everywhere who read my bloggie blog! Yummy doggie biscuits to all your doggies, bowls of warm milk to your kitties, and joocie gumdrops to all the sweettoothed peoples you know! I'm out doing the holiday funness with my family and spending as little time as possible with any/all computer screens. I'll have lots of pictures to share when I get back - Love & Hugs to you ALL!

Special *xmas holiday cheers to my ASME officers, SEC officers, SAE Formula 1 guys, IPTI girls and guys, SSC peoples, and NAESC eXec board.

gone from 12/15 to 12/26... for now.

Here's a quarter....

"Hi, is this ... Hieu?"

"Sure. Who's this?"

"This is [name]! I need your help in Thermodynamics, specifically with heat exchangers."

"Do I know you?"

"nnnnnno?"

"Umm, okay, and your test is when?" This is finals week....

"Tomorrow at 10am."

Being that I just took my last final for the year and *really* don't want to open a book, I kindly let him know I'd consider it, but it wasn't going to be likely. Professors get paid to entertain questions 8 hours a day. Me, not so much. Now I'm going to wonder if my phone number is scribbled in a stall with "need thermo help call: xxx-xxx-xxxx". Could be worse.

Pho Sho'

On our way back from West Hollywood on La Cienega Blvd, we came across "Absolutely Phobulous". Funny thing, I can't find it in losangeles.citysearch.com. But it *does* exist! I took the picture! California peoples, tell me I'm not crazy...

I *love* Pho.
Usually these Pho places have names with numbers (Pho #) like Pho 95 and Pho 99 (there's one of each in Arlington, TX and they're not that far away from each other). One has to wonder if it's an asian thing. Most of pho places are 88 "B+" and above, all the way up to Pho 999 "A++". The lowest I've seen is Pho 75. Nothing below a "C" average.

There's also a "What the Pho" on 10680 8th N.E. St. in Bellevue, Washington. And someone sent me a cute photoshop of a "Pho Shizzle" resturant :-)

**edit: And Chris reminded me, there's a "Pho King" in Seaside, California

Pronouncing my name

To the two people that found my site with "how to pronounce hieu",
Say the word "hill" but without the "L's". In other words, say "hill" without letting your tongue touch the roof of your mouth.
Sometimes it's just easier to say, "Hieu... like Hugh as in Heffner, Downs, and Grant".

To the two people that found my site with "boobie goo"
That's just gross.

Princess BaddAss

"Hey sweetie! Going solo tonight?"

I smile and nodded, hoping no one else heard. The line was long with all those high-fashion girlies and their sheer asymetrical garb and glitter covered faces giggling their way through with fake id's.

"Here give me your wrist."

He lifts up my hand and secures the neon orange and white band on my wrist. He unhooks the elastic railing and lets me through with a big hug. "Have fun tonight!"

Instant bad-ass-ness.

The giggly girls look over, glossy lips agape, shocked, and I could hear them gasping with their "nuh-uh's!" and "oh, no way's". No cover for me. No soup for you. Not a bad way to start a night.

Met up with my friends as we were celebrating the end of a crazy semester with other craziness like requesting Vanilla Ice from the DJ, shots, dancing on bar tops, and dancing with surgeon assistants we've never met before. Good stuff.

And you can't end a crazy night without a crazy 2:30am phone call.

"You won't belieeeeeve what just happened?!"

It's past two, there's giggling on the other end, I'm not quite sure what to think.

"I got kicked out for being a Bad Boy in the restroom at Charlie's!"

I listened as the juicy details were spouted over the phone with the occassional "Oh, I'm soo bad, soo bad". I miss my friends back home. I crawled into bed before 3am for once. Slept well, and have never felt better hitting the books.

Oh those Aggies...

One of the first things I learned at UT-Austin my first year there was that Aggies were 'crazy people'. Crazy fanatical people. So much so that they buy huge american trucks in their school color - maroon. How crazy are they?:

An article at KBTX says: "A female student cut in the front of the line at ticket window 8 and literally ate the roll-call list." Another article on the same site says, "The woman in question called KBTX Thursday night and said she did put the list in her mouth but didn't swallow."

They are a "special" bunch. Check out their #1 Best Seller @ Amazon.com.

Girl, you know it's true.

At about 1:30 this morning, I was lookin for a decent distraction and msg'd an old friend, here's what I got:

me: Distract me, please?!
recieving file: Girl You Know It's True.mp3
him: Your mission, if you chose to accept, is to master the dance steps Milli Vanilli used in making this video. The music is being provided for you to practice with. Remember, they are sort of running in a side to side sway. You have 24 hours.

Something about being the only person in a 50 mile radius playing a Milli Vanilli song can make one feel special. Short bus, or otherwise.

I know better..

..than to see crazy scary movies like TheGrudge so late at night. Eeeeeek! An excellent scary movie. Kracker was kind enough to go with me, but now I'm too skeered to sleep. So I'm going to 'sleep' leaving WinAmp to play my 50+ gigs of music and all the lights on in the apartment and cell phone in my hand.

Because I'm not thinking of my finals right now...

Pictures from the 1st ever Winter Banquet are posted. It almost didn't happen!! But thanks to Rachael, Mark, Joey, Stephanie and the rest of the SEC/WB2004 Crew, it turned out better than we hoped!

Other *good* things:
- Angel Tree presents were packed and delivered
- ASME Poster finally delivered
- XMas shopping complete
- Bananas bought for smoothie making
- Heard a smile in my best friend's voice
- Saw another best friend smile a real smile
- Smiled myself, for once

G'nite all.

Saw "Saw"

Last night - or earlier this evening Kracker and I saw "Saw". Very "Seven"-ish. Very good. One warning about the movie's website - it's pretty much the movie. Scary movies scare the bu-cheezes outta me, but I make myself go see them. It's quite the rush to practice containing one's shit; it helps takes the edge of the short and fast semester that just flew by. Thankfully, there weren't any screaming chickies to unnerve me this time. At some point, I'm gonna see if he'll go with me to see TheGrudge.

I *loved* Transformers back in the day

And after watching the latest Citroen C4 ad, I'm in love again!

Go see the Ad @: http://www.citroenc4.co.uk/

Vivi @ Home

Vivi enjoyed another Thanksgiving with my mom this year. I was trying out the sepia setting on my Cannon S50 and he graciously woke up from his nap to let me take a picture. My ball of fur is 9 years old this year :-)
