Six Flags Over Texas Under Water

It rained sooo much in TX that if we haven't broken records from the 1900's yet, we should have in the past couple of hours. Six Flags flooded, I've never heard of that before... There were pictures on the news of Lake Arlington flooding and pushing over the walls and into the amusment park. The rest of the news and the photos are from here.

So we have water from the park...entering the park...flooding the park. Photos courtesy of the news link provided above.

Rain rain, go away, come back when I can't go out and play.....

It's been raining since, I don't know when. For a long time. And I'd like for it to stop, please. I came down here sans boots and jacket thanks to a not so smart sibling who said there would be no need for boots and jackets. Guess that makes me not so smart for listening to said sibling. Luckily, according to the news man, it'll clear up in time for my road trip. Crossing fingers.

When the moon hits your eye......

Bernie and I hit Barton Springs Mall yesterday initially for the Foley's one day sale and my immediate need for comfy shoes, but we were treated with some interesting eye funnies. I'm not sure exactly how one can have their ass saggin out of their shorts and walk around a mall full of children. But I guess if I had a SuggaDaddy buyin' me goodies I'd walk around all kinds of butt hanging out nekkid too.

What a Country....

You're Brazil!
You're athletic, charming, and probably a good dancer. Unfortunatley, you don't really mind chopping down the rain forest, and you probably consider homeless people expendable in certain circumstances. Of course, your personality is so diverse that it's hard to track down exactly what you're like. You definitely like Pele, the World Cup, and shouting "gooooal" at the top of your lungs.

Things you don't want to see when you come home

So I get home to the hotel and this truck is parked outside right by my stairwell. www.CrimeSceneCleaners.com is what it says across the windshield. This, of course, in no way makes me feel at all comfortable, but I'm too tired to care and snap this with my Clie and go upstairs. The morbid corners of my brain are thinking of why there's a bloody mattress and accompanying hotel hardware in the back of this truck. Horrific nightmares take over my short nap and I end up missing my kickboxing class.

The Art of Sitting on Cows

I finally got around to taking pictures for my scholarship apps and other things that needed recent pictures. DJJammieJams came up to Canadia (as she calls it) to do the shooting and I got Bernie to tote along to make sure I didn't commit some fashion fau'pah. And no trip to this little park is ever complete without a few moments spent molesting stone cows. DJJammieJams gave us a how-to for sitting on cows, apparently it's very similar to sitting on elephants, ... yeah ask her. And Bernie picked the cow's nose, nothing at all like picking the nose of an elephant.

AutoX @ the Tx Motor Speedway

The course was *inside* TMS this time on the inner oval - very much with the awesomeness! For the love of the sport, my sleepy head drove up to watch, essentially, as I was guaranteed to be less than participating. There was much goodness as the Gods of AutoX blessed me with awesome friends and the opportunity to drive an '87 MR-2, wooo hooo!! Not to shabby for an $800 car... The experience came complete with a few minutes of my favorite scene from Kill Bill Vol. 1 on a screen in the dash. (The system cost more than the car!)

As with the last AutoX, there was much drama, this time - not so much annoying to me as it was everyone else. Some hotshot in a Camero over-accellerated, spun off the course, and took out one of his rear fenders on the steel wall and almost took out a course worker! Then it was my turn... I spun out in the MR-2, 'froaded, and nearly took out a worker! (::giggle::)

I didn't do too badly. I beat Jason in his own car by atleast two seconds + his cones. :-)

GAAAAAAH

That's all I could say for hours last night after riding in a bright yellow Porsce GT3!! **Special note to anyone who should own such a car and would offer me a ride, make sure I have a spare set of undies :-) So it's not the best picture, but it's to remind me it wasn't just a wet dream!

Serenity...

... at 7 o'clock in the morning after an hour and a half drive. The only thing that made it better was the home cooked eggs and biscuit n' gravy breakfast... ohyeah!

In search of the digital part of my brain....

Back in 1999 when a cute little Palm spinoff was hitting the market, I waited online with my plastic waiting to buy my very first pda. The day came and I was customer #26 and I got an ice blue handspring visor deluxe. Woo hooo!! Here it is 5 years later, and it's cracked, bruised, still kicking and showing off... but it's getting blind in it's old age. The graffiti pad isn't picking up like it's used to. Sometimes it doesn't see me tapping on the little icons and it's eating way too many batteries when it's just sitting there. And I had to retire him to the accessory pocket of my laptop bag, le sigh.

And so today, I went shopping for the one that would be a darn spiffy replacement: a Clie by Sony with wireless goodness among other things. The shopping incident was horrible, no one had the one I wanted, I had to special order deliver it from some far off Texas town and they couldn't guarantee that it would even get to me. I was given a replacement without the goodness to tide me over until it arrived, but I couldn't wait. 50+ miles and hours of phone shopping later, I finally found it and I can't put it down!!

He's soo adorable! See more James

Hee hee

So I haven't written anything in like forever. I've been busy with work, working out, and day dreaming. I'm gonna do a real update soon, but for now, just know that I did a nice long drive through the Hill Country this weekend, been swimming laps and running in parks, really keeping in touch with friends, and I got a badd ass haircut. I also had some TAM goodness, sushi goodness, and adopted a new handheld. I have pictures to post and I will post them soon.

I also moved my site around, cause I had to. Some people don't need to be seeing what they were seeing. If you're seeing this, then you're special, I love you, or you're a sneaky freak, and I'll know who you are cause I'm good like that :-P

K, I gotta long drive t'marra. Love you all!

Happy Heart

Somewhere in the middle of dragging my poor grey cells through school and dealing with family crisises I found some really neat people to have a good time with. I love these people, (you know who you are). When I'm with them, I forget about the bad stuff and everything else is automatically good. It made me think of another person I knew many many years ago.

He showed up one day at work - a new person. He seemed arrogant to me. Cute, but arrogant. Found out that he had a girl that he adored (in that way all women want to be adored by their men), got his degree in Explosives or something extremely interesting like that, and knew a hell of a lot of important people. He drove a really neat car, had an amazing set of eyes, and a yummy voice. He always made me laugh and always had nice things to say about me - even if I didn't believe them myself, they sounded great. He was always looking out for me and my best interests. He was always trying to help me find things that made me happy. He became one of the better friends I've ever had and I grew to respect him. I learned a lot from him and wished like hell I could find me a guy just like him for keeps. So yeah, I had a huge crush on this guy. My second biggest crush ever, the first one being in 3rd grade. Given the chance, I could never date this guy. He was waaaaay too cool and waaaay too awesome to want to have *me* around for any length of time. I was totally not worthy. We ended up not being friends because I did something stupid and chose to take the yellow belly'd way out of a situation and it pissed him off - and that wasn't a good thing.

So I looked him up tonight some eight years later. Wanted to see what he was up to with out having to actually say 'hello'. Thanks to google, looks like he's got himself another badd ass car, badd ass jobby job, and a badd ass woman worthy of his own badd ass-ness. And it warmed me all over inside that I just might get teary eyed. I like knowing that people get what they deserve, gives me hope that good things still happen. And if I ever ran into him again, I'd say 'congratulations' and 'thank you' and 'you win, you were right'.

a memorable weekend

So memorable that I don't want to talk about it; it was that bad. I did have a highlighted 20 minutes with a large cup of coffee boba tea and funny stories. God does love me :-)
