MAC's Hello Kitty collection is out (and has been out since Tuesday - totally slipped my mind)!!! And in my safety color... black.
My boss made a funny today while at lunch with a co-worker, funny to me at least:
..pointing to a Lost Kitty sign on a pole, "Hey, isn't that what Hieu likes?"
"No, it's Hello Kitty"
"Well, isn't that what you say when you find the lost kitty?!"
You have to know my boss to get how funny it is.
Working long days isn't something I particularly strive to do. But they can be rewarding when I walk out of the building to see the wonderful night time sky colors fading off over the horizon. This one was especially nice with the orange and the blue. Houston has some pretty skies, I wish I had an office with a window to appreciate them more.

Monday morning I had a site visit for one of my projects. I stopped and took a quick picture of the power lines running parallel with State Highway 146 out by State Highway 96. The clouds in the distance were prettier earlier that morning and the cows were closer, but duty called.

Last night at the Rocket's game I took a picture with the University of Phoenix's phoenix. I assume it's a phoenix. I mean really, what other bird could it be? My boss said it looked like a duck. I should start a collection of me and animal celebrities... So far I have the phoenix, and the
gecko.
A calligrapher at the New Year celebration was writing out names in Chinese. I asked him to write out the meaning of my name - instead of the phonetic spelling. He interpreted it as meaning "respectful of one's parents". Seeing as how people like getting kanji tattoos, I think it would make a neat tattoo (no, not gonna do it). Kind of like "Mom" in a heart tattoo.
Nicholas got the phonetic spelling of his name. We know it says Nicholas because another gentleman sounded it out. And this would be one looooong tattoo!
Lunar New Year/Year of the Ox/Chinese New Year fell on the 26th of January this year and celebrations were going on around town all week long. We went to watch the Lion Dances and Kung Fu Exhibition up in the Heights Friday and Saturday...
